KJ DIY Yakima rack - No More Towers!

I've owned a yakima rack for several years. My old cars used Q-Towers. For the new KJ, I'd need a set of LowRider towers. I was feeling cheap this weekend, so I used stainless steel pole mounting hardware that I already had.
The pole mount hardware has some nice strong cross pieces, so I chose to leave the 'U' side at the top. I drilled holes through my yakima bars using my drill press, and drilled slightly larger holes on the bottom side to make alignment easier. I didn't bend them, that's how they're made. The triangle that's formed will make a great place to run straps through. This way I didn't drill any holes on the stock rack, and I could mount my bars at the far ends of the rack. Keep in mind that the width of the rack is different from front to back. The rear is actually narrower.
The final rack is very low profile. It's nowhere near as obnoxious as a usual yakima setup. Thanks to the new mounts, I actualy have more usable space on my rack than ever. I think I can actually mount two bike racks and a ski rack all at once with the 48" bars.
