Hardware

Currently I have one WRT54G at home and one WRT54GS on order.

Various roof mounts

Endpoint Configuration

An Endpoint will consist of a WRT54G/S with a directional antenna.

HUB Configuration

A Hub will ustilize an omnidirectional antenna.

Useful hardware

Pigtail from Linksys to antenna.
Hyperlinktech

Interesting stuff

By combining some hacks...
The Dual Serial Port Mod
A GPS reciever card
and
A Dallas 1-Wire interface
The WRT54GS could have GPS timing(and position), Weather and Hardware temp monitoring.
Technically, I could add a card that I have without the serial mod, since the output is TTL already

Masts, Mounts, etc.

The easiest way to get a mast in the air is by attaching it to your chimney.
Try a directv chimney mount kit, from any directv dealer, walmart, etc.

Roof mount tripod
Radio Shack:
15-517 3 foot tripod for around $30
15-862 5 foot antenna mast
15-863 10 foot antenna mast
Lag the tripod into the roof (making sure to seal with roofing tar)
attach mast(s) and antenna. Aim and voila.
