Tuesday:
Spent the day packing and finishing up wiring and installing the new ham
radio, and installed the heat exchanger.
I tested the shower out with a bucket of water. It warmed up the water
nicely.
I picked up Aaron, loaded up and set off to Arkansas at 6pm. We stopped at
steak and shake for some food in Rolls. We arrived at Bull shoals around
11:30 pm. I pulled off the light covers and lit up the world since there
was no light. The map was a little funky, so we managed to drive through
someones yard where we think there used to be a road... Once we figured
out where the camp was, I backed into the woods and used my rear flood
lights to see where I was setting up camp. We set up our individual camps
and went to sleep. I immediately regretted not bringing a sleeping mat to
sleep on. Instead I slept with two tarps and some rocks underneath me. My
mummy bag worked excellently.

Wednesday:
I woke up about 8am, enjoyed some breakfast and hung out.

We went into town to fill tanks and make phonecalls. I picked up the
fitting I neded to put the showerhead on the hose I used for my onboard
shower. After watching joe try to call people. We went to the marina to
get air. While they filled the tanks, we fed these giant carp. These were
the laziest fish around. We decided a good torture would be to glue a
bunch of food to someone and dump them in.....
Around 2pm, we got started. We did our three mile swim along the shore of
bull shoals. I found the frog kick to be the easiest. I switched my kicks
around a lot to minimize fatige. After the swim, we took a break and did
several skill check outs. Later that night we went on a night dive. It wa
awesome. My buddy was slow to get equalized, but after we started, we made
it down to 60 feet, where the water was about 59 degrees. My 3mm suit was
definitely too thin. Fortunately, I was almost out of air, so we headed
up.
The night dive was an incredible experience.

Thursday:
Thursday morning, we did a group deep dive down to 50 feet where there's a
fead forrest. The trees were dead white, and looked awesome. We didn't go
down into them because some had sinus/ear clearing problems. After the
deep dive, we took a break. Then we checked out on the rest of the skills
and finished up.
We got packed up and drove back to columbia around 3:30.
This was a great trip, and was anunexpected vacation. I was really up to
the challenge and was happy with how I held up.
